While, there's much speculation on the Anti-Christ's identity,
the following paint's a picture of the most likely suspect.
God fearing people have long wondered about the identity of the Anti-Christ, Satan's evil agent who is predicted in the Christian Bible's Book of Revelation. The Anti-Christ is feared to have the power to destroy, create havoc, disease, disorder, famine, drought and natural disasters. If true we have much to fear. But who is the anti-Christ. In the past candidates such as Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin, and even today's Saddam Hussain have been mentioned. Although all were reasonable candidates, these candidates are dead or incarcerated and no longer a threat. Even the infamous Osama bin Laden can be excluded because although he's evil to Christians he's not evil to all people. We must consider as the anti-Christ a personality that is a danger to all humanity.
For those who don't believe in God, or the Bible's prediction, there's no problem. If there's no God, then there is no Devil and no anti-Christ. However, the question of Jesus Christ is another matter. There's ample documentation in both the Bible and Koran that Jesus Christ once existed. However, whether Jesus was the actual Son of God, just a Prophet or just another man will be left to your individual beliefs and not debated here. We believe what we believe. The fact is, more than half the world's population acknowledges Christ existed and had a profound influence on the world.
If Christ is goodness, then, the anti-Christ must be a cause of the multitude problems facing humanity such as wars, crimes, hunger, genocide, hardships and losses from many natural disasters. I'll show this is true and not just expanded media coverage or someone's prophecy. Yes, the anti-Christ is among us. But, who is, where is, or how do we identify the anti-Christ? The answers would become clearer by first studying and understanding the teachings of Jesus Christ as documented in the Bible. The most likely candidate, who is contrary to those teachings, will be identified as the one and only force that can cause and/or allow all of our problems. Yes, I will identify the anti-Christ.
By first reading a few of Christ's teachings, the anti-Christ's identity should come into focus. Here's a sample:
"Beware of the false prophets" . . . . . Do not judge so that you will not be judged. treat people the same way you want them to treat you" . . . . "You cannot serve God and wealth" . . . . "Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me." . . .
To answer a question on the most important Commandment, Jesus said: . . . "The first and principal one of all commands is: Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord, And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul and out of and with all your mind and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment. The second is like it and is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock."
As we seek out potential candidates on whom to pin the anti-Christ label, let's first consider the route cause of all the evil and hardships we endure. Do we build our houses on weak foundations or on dangerous lands? Do we take care of the less fortunate through out the world, even those who don't live over a wealth of petroleum? Do we serve vanity more than we serve God? Do we treat others as we would want to be treated?
Saint Augustine, when he was a 4th century Christian Priest and Bishop, preached on the subject of the anti-Christ. He would council for us to look within ourselves for characteristics of an anti-Christ.
Thus, by not living by Christ's teachings, we are all potentially an anti-Christ. If we can accumulate the effects of all our individual faults, all our vanities, all our sins against others, sins against nature, we'll uncover the true anti-Christ. By allowing our leaders to pursue policies which are contrary to common sense and advise of experts we suffer the consequences. It all starts with our ignorance of and failure to follow Christ's teachings. We, as a whole, are the anti-Christ. If we followed Christ's teachings, there would be few hardships.
